Glen Highway Blues is a collection of Blues songs recorded in Alaska in 2003-2005. Son Henry was working in the North Slope, two weeks on /Two weeks off, raising four small children, and keeping a musical career alive by running Blues Jams and touring festivals across Alaska. There's a lot of raw emotion embedded in these songs, narrating the stress, distance, and loneliness that a rotational job can place on a family. As Blue Lisa Monroe of Southwest Blues Magazine put it, "This is blues from the gut - unvarnished and unpretentious...big, bold electric slide guitar, and the lap steel playing that is quickly defining the man as a force to be reckoned with". The fist-in-the air anger in "Peach Street Blues", the desperation and resignation evident in "Second Glance", and the peace and hope that suffuses "She's My Home" all tell their story of Blues in the Frozen North.
