Projects

The Son Henry Band

Americana | Country | Blues

We play original Americana rooted in blues, country, and rock. With Dan Lopata on bass, Marty York on drums, and Dave Knight on guitar, we lay down a groove you can feel in your bones. This is a dance-along, sing-along band for honky tonks, pubs and biker bars everywhere.

We write songs that sound like they’ve been around forever, the kind that feel like the good old days, even when they’re brand new. But we always slip in a few covers, not the usual ones, but the kind that catch you off guard in the best way. The ones that make you say, “Oh man, I haven’t heard that in forever!”

Son Henry Solo

Acoustic Americana | Country | Blues

When I play solo, it’s just me, my guitars, and the stories I’ve carried with me.  With these original songs, some hard-lived, some imagined, I'm aiming straight for the truth. I switch between guitars depending on what the song needs: the plaintive cry of the lap steel slide, the sweet melodic picking on acoustic, or the raw, angry growl of the national resonator when the story cuts deep.  For me, it’s about sounding out feelings.  Grief, joy, longing, resilience turned into something honest. Just strings, voice, and truth.

The Front Porch Project

Folk Americana Duo

The Front Porch Project started the way all the best things do, with a good song, a good friend, and a porch to sit on.  We play original Americana, a mix of blues, folk, and country, all drawn from real stories and the kind of weathered, beautiful places you find across Upstate New York. Our shows are built for listening rooms, galleries, barns, and porches, anywhere folks come to really hear the songs. We call it The Front Porch Project because that’s where the heart of it lives: storytelling, connection, and music that feels like home.

The Smokin' Section

Pure Raw Blues Band

The Smokin’ Section is my all-out, high-octane blues band. We bring the raw, the rowdy, and the real.  The kind of blues that hits hard and leaves a mark.

The lineup is stacked: Dan Lopata on bass, Rob Huff on percussion, Joe Pizzo on drums, and Gian Carlo Cervone on keys.

It’s gritty, loud, and full of soul. We’re not here to play background music, we’re here to tear the place up.

Son House Blues Night @ The Record Archive

Last Thursday of Every Month

The last Thursday of every month, I host an evening of deep roots and soulful storytelling: Son House Blues Night in the Backroom Lounge at the Record Archive. I’m joined by the incredible Son House house band: Rob Huff on drums, Dan Lopata on bass, and Jon Tucker on keys.

There's a different theme and guest performer every month.  This gig's about building community and keeping the blues alive.

Open Blues Jam @ Main Place Tavern

Every Sunday 6:30 - 9:30 pm

Every Sunday night at the Main Place Tavern, we host an open blues jam that’s all about good vibes and great music. I’m joined by Rob Huff on drums and Dan Lopata on bass, and we welcome players of all levels—pros, beginners, and everyone in between.

Bring your instrument, your voice, or just come hang out. It’s a friendly, low-pressure space to make music and connect. Way back in the dark ages, some musicians took a chance on me and let me sit in with them - this is my way of paying it forward.
