From the recording Grace
“She loves me…she loves me not…” Even in long term relationships, there are moments where you are deeply connected, and other times where you feel a distance, and you wonder if your partner is all in or not. We’re looking for signs in our partner’s actions or words, reading tea leaves, uncertain if that feeling of connection will ever come. The poignant reality of human frailty is that our fear of vulnerability often leads us to endure the agony of uncertainty rather than take the risk of being the first to show our hand. This picture has nothing to do with it – I just really like the picture of the dog waiting.
Waiting
Lyrics
Waiting on a Sign
It’s hopeless, I know
And anyone can see
That I’m lost here, right now
With you as the only one for me
But you look right through me
Like I’m not even there
And waiting on you is not going anywhere.
So now It’s hopeless I know
Anyone can see
I can’t help it, I know
If I could I swear I’d move on
But the sound of your voice is like music to my ears
And your sweet smile knocks me down to my knees
So now I’m waiting, and hoping
And losing my mind
And I’m watching the sky
Like I’m waiting on some kind of a sign
That today is the day that you finally realize
That you really love me
But till then I’m just waiting
Waiting on a sign...
Oh, now Waiting, Oh and waiting
Its just Killing me
I can’t help it, Oh I know
That you are the only one for me
My friends try to tell me not to wait for your call
But I’d rather live in shadows than without you at all
So now I’m waiting and hoping
Biding my time,
And I’m watching the sky
Like I’m waiting on some kind of sign
That today is the day that you finally realize
That you really love me
But till then I’m just waiting
I’m waiting on a sign.
