November News from Son Henry

Hey friends, Son here, checking in as the leaves start to fall and the guitars get a little moodier… I’ve got a few things cooking that I’m excited to share with you.

Be Part of the Front Porch Project Live Recording!

Rochester friends, this one’s personal.

On Friday, December 13 at 8 PM, The Front Porch Project, that’s me and the amazing Elaine Verstraete on upright bass, will be recording our first live EP at The Bop Shop in Rochester.

This will be an intimate evening of original songs, close harmonies, and porch-style storytelling,  all captured live with your good energy in the room.

Tickets are $20 and you can buy them here: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/boparts/1851849

Mailing list exclusive: The Bop Shop has let us set aside 20 free tickets, and we're giving them away to mailing listers, first-come, first-served. If you’d like a free one, please RSVP to manager@sonhenry.com

Tickets are limited, and I’d love to fill that room with familiar faces.  Let’s make this record together, folks!

Welcome, Dan Lopata!

I’m thrilled to officially welcome Dan Lopata to the Son Henry Band!

Dan’s been part of the Rochester music scene for years, a multi-instrumentalist, deep thinker, and monster player. He’s a familiar face for many of you too - he’s been the bass player at our Sunday Night Blues jam since we began two years ago.

Offstage, Dan’s the kind of guy we love having around, smart, funny, endlessly curious, and always talking about music like it’s the language that holds us together. Since joining the band, he’s brought a jolt of creative energy, helping us dig deeper, write harder, and stretch the sound in exciting new directions

At the same time, our friend Tad Wadhams is moving on to new musical adventures. Tad’s been a part of our band for the last year and I’m grateful his many contributions.. Wishing him the best on his next journey.

We're cooking up a lot of new songs - can’t wait for you to hear what’s next.

Quick Note — “All Blues” Digital Release Nov 15

Just a quick reminder that my anthology album All Blues, featuring fan-favorite songs you all helped pick, will be released November 15, 2025.

It’s available for download and free streaming now on www.sonhenry.com, and all the other streaming services too.  CDs will be available at shows. Thanks again for helping me choose the tracks - this one’s yours as much as it’s mine.

 Looking Ahead

Check out the new web design and let us know what you think!  We're working on making it easier to navigate.

Once the live Front Porch EP is in the can, I’ll be hunkering down this winter for some solo recording, which means December and January will be a little quieter gig-wise. But don’t worry, we’re already booking fast and furiously for 2026, and there’s lots of new music on the horizon.

If there’s a venue you love and want to see me play (solo, with The Front Porch Project, or with the full band) drop me a line, or, better yet, ask the bartender or manager why we’re not there yet! That’s how we get the good word out - wink emoji.

Thanks & Fall Greetings

Thanks for being part of this journey, for coming to the shows, sharing the songs, and keeping live music alive. Wishing you all a warm Thanksgiving, a peaceful holiday season, and plenty of good music by the fire.

See you soon,
Son
