Hey folks!
We're in Aberdeen! The UK tour kicks off on September 1st, starting with rehearsals at Captain Tom's Rehearsal and Recording Studio in Aberdeen with my old pals Mel, Gog, and Mike. We’ll be tightening things up before the official launch on the 6th at the Borders Blues Club just south of Edinburgh. Be sure to follow along on the @sonhenryband Facebook page for all the fun. We’ll be posting photos of some of the coolest old pubs we stumble upon, plus snapshots with old friends and new faces along the way. Here's one with the crew at Captain Tom's .

But wait! There's more!—I've just wrapped up recording a new album, Ballad Hunter. It’s a collection of original solo acoustic tunes that dive deep into the rich sounds of early 20th-century blues, country, and Appalachian folk. If you’re on my mailing list, you’re in for a treat—I’ve attached a free downloadable teaser just for you - Molly's Song is an instrumental I wrote while sitting in my yard watching my black lab, Molly, chase butterflies. Molly went to dog heaven during the recording phase of this album, so I decided to add this track in as a dedication to her. Miss her so much…

As for streaming, Two singles, "Where I'm Bound" and “Queen of the Pines”, will come out first, followed by the full album on all the platforms by mid October. BUT! You can download the whole thing right now from here (go to the music tab), or you can buy a CD at any show on the UK Tour this month, or in the US when we get back. Trust me, you’ll want to check out the artwork too—it’s as vintage and cool as the music inside. If you're interested in learning more about the album, lyrics, or Edison wax recording, check out the liner notes here.
October and November will see things slowing down a bit gig-wise, but for good reason. I’ve got a new grandbaby to meet, and the Rochester Son Henry Band will be hunkering down to rehearse and record a fresh batch of original tunes in November. Wish us luck on the tour, and we’ll see you on the other side!
Cheers and much love,
Son
